Climate change and Tree planting... Can tree planting save our Planet?

If everyone in our community planted and owned a tree, how many trees would we have and what would that mean to our planet.

For millions of years, this planet has used trees to fight climate change. Life cannot exist without the presence of trees on the planet. The biggest problem faced by our planet today is climate change. Air pollution as a result of the emission of carbon-dioxide in the atmosphere is the reason behind climatic change. Apart from capturing these gases, the role of these trees can also be seen in fighting against the impact of climate change.

As a community if we plant trees, we help in decreasing the effects of climatic change around the world. The world is a home to roughly 3 trillion trees according to a report that was carried out in 2015 at Yale University whereas according to the Global Forest Watch, from 2001 to 2022, Uganda lost 1.03Mha of tree cover, equivalent to a 13% decrease in tree and 463Mt of COâ‚‚ emissions. This increased loss of trees in the developing world has been attributed to mainly the use of trees as a main source of fuel and the demand of land for arable farming in order to help feed the growing population especially in urban centers.

If we can't stop the habit of chopping down trees especially without encourage the planting of more, we will have to pay the cost in the future with a negative climate change. By planting a tree today, we will see more benefits in the coming years.

If everyone within our communities would plant a tree and even do something extraordinary by looking after it. Ask yourself how many trees we are likely to have and how much of these carbon dioxide gases would be removed from our community. The current population of Uganda is 50,075,671, based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data.

Tree planting is one of the simplest solutions, also cheaper, easily understandable and more effective than any other solution for any lay communities. Planting trees is also the main strategy in which all communities globally can participate. It will encourage community engagement and it's environmentally friendly. It is one way of helping save our planet and better still make it a better place to stay not only for us also for those to come after us.

It makes no sense for one individual to plant a tree while another thinks about chopping it down.

If together, we all plant trees, then together we shall manage to save our planet.

Life cannot exist without the presence of trees on the planet.
